If you’re looking for something a little out of the box or cheaper Valentine’s day options, we’ve put together a list of things to do for Valentine’s Day in Dayton.

1) Grab drinks at one of the country’s best bourbon bars

Downtown Dayton is home to one of the best bourbon bars in the nation and it just moved to a bigger location! The Century Bar, which is walking distance from the Levitt Pavilion Dayton, just reopened in their new, larger space and it’s incredible. What could be more romantic than sipping some fancy bourbon or cocktails with your sweetie?

2) Take a romantic stroll on Dayton’s river walk.

You can take in Dayton’s beautiful riverfront and skyline hand in hand with your love on Dayton’s river walk. The River Walk is a nearly 1.25-mile loop that follows the levee tops on the south side of the river from Main Street to the Monument Avenue Bridge, across the bridge to Riverview Avenue, then back over the Main Street Bridge. You can learn more about where to hop on the River Walk from the Miami Conservancy District.

3) Have a lunch date at 2nd Street Market

Do you work evenings? Or maybe your relationship is brand new and a romantic dinner is just too much too soon. Since Valentine’s Day falls on a Friday this year you can grab a fun lunch date at 2nd Street Market. Stop in and enjoy any of the amazing food options they have to offer inside. They have great vegan and vegetarian options as well.

4) Go bird watching!

If you and your valentine are looking for more adventurous things to do in Dayton, you can spend the day looking for our nation’s bird all around our city. Bundle up, grab your cameras, and take your sweetie to Carillon Park or Wegerzyn Gardens and see if you can spot a bald eagle in the wild.
