Meet Ted R. Bright!
Ted has been a familiar face at the Levitt ever since we opened our doors in 2018. At every concert, you’ll spot him in his spot on the lawn, wearing his signature cowboy hat. Before we got to know him personally, the Levitt staff affectionately referred to Ted as “Cowboy” while swapping stories about this incredibly kind and friendly man. Today, Ted is a cherished member of our Levitt Dayton family, and we recently had the pleasure of sitting down with him to learn even more about the man behind the hat.
When you aren’t here what do you do? Who are you?
Well, I’m a Meals on Wheels driver for senior resource connection. I deliver meals, and also, too, I clean up the serving area after we’ve made up the meals to be delivered.
What brought you to Meals on Wheels?
Originally it was just to get a job, and I’ve been there now for over nearly 30 years… there were so many things I could do there that that’s why I stayed around.
How long have you been coming to the Levitt?
Well, I’ve been coming to Levitt ever since it began, and the reason why I come to Levitt is to experience different types of music. I know that not every form of music is to everybody’s taste, but you won’t know that until you come and listen to it. So, once you’ve done that, then you can, pretty much if you choose to pick and choose what you want to come here and hear and what you don’t.
What does community mean to you?
Community means pretty much what we’re doing here at Levitt, getting together, talking, socializing, discussing what we like and don’t like generally, Dayton, our jobs, life in general. I’ve been with people and talked about their kids and grandkids and wives, husbands, boyfriends, significant others, you name it. It seems to run the gamut here at the Levitt Pavilion.
