Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion are woven into the mission and fabric of the Levitt Pavilion Dayton. This means we know it is incredibly important to listen, grow, and be intentional about breaking down the barriers to the performing arts and lifting the many and diverse voices in our community. We acknowledge that this work is ongoing and requires constant, mindful effort so we think it is important to share what we are doing this year to further this mission outside of our free concert series.

Levitt Connect: Community

With the generous support of PNC Bank, we are taking Levitt on the road in the hopes of meeting our community where they are. We werePNC bank logo mindful about working with community partners to curate pop-up concerts in diverse areas of our city. While taking away the ticket removes a huge barrier to access, we know there are more barriers that aren’t as easily unwoven. Our hope is that this is a first step in creating even more access to high-caliber performing arts and the connecting and healing power they have.

Juneteenth Celebration

On June 19th, we are hosting a Juneteenth concert at the Levitt Dayton. It is extremely important to us that we provide the space and that community members curate the opening of the event. The celebration will begin at 5 PM and end with a concert by a GRAMMY-nominated band that will continue to lift up the observance of Juneteenth. We will announce the full season – including this band – on May 20!

Levitt Connect: Inspire – Signature Levitt Summer Camp

Signature Levitt Summer Camp July 12-16 2021 We are unbelievably excited to have partnered with Oral Funk Poetry and Signature Educational Solutions to bring the first-ever Signature Levitt Summer Camp to the Levitt lawn! This camp will serve as the Urban Creative Arts Symposium Reconnect and runs from July 12-16.

This camp will give students of any experience level the opportunity to explore the urban creative arts including spoken word and music in many different and creative ways. The long-term goal of the Urban Creative Arts program – which includes their annual Symposium and other programs – is to showcase urban creative arts and increase its acceptance by the broader community as a legitimate art form worthy of appreciation and support.

Registration for this camp will open on May 3rd.
